New CCC management team

CCC is pleased to announce the appointment of a new, strong management team effective from November 2014. Klaus Bruhn Jensen from the Department of Media, Cognition and Communication, the former Vice Head, is now Head of Centre; Sebastian Boring from the Department of Computer Science is newly appointed Vice Head.

Founded in 2011, the Centre has established itself as an important interdisciplinary meeting-place and resource for researchers from different fields within both the sciences and the humanities. According to the new Head of Centre, Klaus Bruhn Jensen, Three key objectives during the coming years will be to consolidate our interdisciplinary collaborations through more joint externally funded projects, to extend our international research networks, and to promote dialogue with stakeholders from business, government, and civil society.

Klaus Bruhn Jensen

Klaus Bruhn Jensen is Professor in the Department of Media, Cognition and Communication within the Faculty of Humanities. His research focuses on internet and mobile media with a special emphasis on changing patterns of media use across historical periods and different cultures. Recent publications include Media Convergence (Routledge, 2010) and A Handbook of Media and Communication Research, 2nd ed. (Routledge, 2012); he is also editor-in-chief of the International Encyclopedia of Communication Theory and Philosophy, 4 vols. (Wiley-Blackwell, in preparation, 2016).

Sebastian Boring

Sebastian Boring

Sebastian Boring is Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science within the Faculty of Science. His research focuses on novel interaction techniques around the display's boundaries. He is particularly interested in considering the surrounding of displays as new interaction canvas instead of only looking at the display itself. His research includes both the development of sophisticated sensing and tracking technologies as well as the design and evaluation of such interaction techniques. Sebastian Boring is the general co-chair of Mobile HCI 2015, to be held in Copenhagen (August 24-27, 2015).
