Best Paper award for CCC researcher Giovanni Troiano

Giovanni Maria Troiano, and co-authors Esben Warming Pedersen and Kasper Hornbæk, from the Centre for Communication and Computing have another full paper accepted for the GHOST project. The paper, entitled User-Defined Gestures for Elastic, Deformable Displays, will be presented at the AVI '14 conference as part of the conference proceedings.

The paper received the Best Paper award from the conference committee. It describes what gestures users prefer to perform on an elastic, deformable display, and how participants used elasticity and deformability as input. The study employs a methodology called "guessability study”. Results show how participants used depth and elasticity of the display to simulate deformation, rotation and displacement of objects.
