Best Paper awards for CCC researchers

Best Paper award for Giovanni Troiano

Giovanni Maria Troiano, and co-authors Esben Warming Pedersen and Kasper Hornbæk, from the Centre for Communication and Computing have another full paper accepted for the GHOST project. The paper, entitled User-Defined Gestures for Elastic, Deformable Displays, will be presented at the AVI '14 conference as part of the conference proceedings. Read more

Best Paper award for Anders Markussen

PhD student Anders Markussen has developed a method that makes it possible to write on a screen without touching the screen or anything else – merely by gestures in mid-air. Vulture: A Mid-Air Word-Gesture Keyboard by Anders Markussen received a CHI2014 Best Paper Award, making it part of the top 1% of more than 2000 submissions to the premier conference in human computer interaction. Read more   

Student from Communication and IT gains access to Google Glass

Jacob Funch, graduate student from Communication and IT, is working on his Master’s Thesis. With the aim of developing a reading application, he has gained access to Google Glass.

Jacob started out with several ideas, but in the end he decided to develop a technological assistant to optimise reading. Society for Danish Language and Literature was excited about the idea and joined forces with Jacob. After explaining his ideas in an online community for Google Glass researchers and designers, he soon after received an invitation to buy Google Glass. Read more
