The dark side of globalization
CGC/CCC researcher Henrik Vigh will take part in the conversation series “Verden forsøgt forklaret” on January 8, 2026 focusing on crime, paramilitary groups, and militias, also known as the dark side of globalization.
Over the past 25 years, Henrik Vigh has explored these fields through anthropological fieldwork among cocaine smugglers, young militia members in West African Guinea-Bissau, as well as many other areas of criminality in Denmark and globally.
In conversation with Kristian Cedervall Lauta, Pro-Rector and Professor of Law at the University of Copenhagen, Henrik Vigh will reveal and explore some of the dynamics that increasingly draw dirty, international conflicts into the heart of Scandinavian welfare societies.
