Anja Simonsen presents new research project at network meeting in Uppsala

CGC researcher Anja Simonsen participates in a network meeting organised by Keep the City Ticking in Uppsala, Sweden, which brings together scholars from across Europe under the theme Infrastructures of Migration and Labour. At the meeting, she presents her new ERC-funded research project SOLID – The Social Life of Dead People, which explores migrant deaths in and around the Mediterranean through an ethnographic approach.

In her presentation, Simonsen focuses on how the social and political dimensions of death intersect with EU border politics and migration governance.
