CGC researcher Anja Simonsen about migrant deaths in the Mediterranean

CGC researcher Anja Simonsen has written an article in Information about migrant deaths in the Mediterranean and their consequences. The article highlights what it means to lose someone and being left behind in uncertainty, in a world where basic human rights drown in border politics.

The article is based on ethnographic data from the ERC Starting Grant project SOLID, funded by the European Research Council (ERC), on Batoul Karbijha’s documentary My Maysoon, a documentary about her search for her sister Maysoon, and on the work of Batoul Karbijha and Sukri Said to identify the lives lost in the Mediterranean.
