David Sausdal Publishes Monograph on Globalized Local Policing

Titled "Globalizing Local Policing: An Ethnography of Change and Concern Among Danish Detectives", the book investigates how local detectives experience the changes in their working lives and the frustration that such changes entail. Sausdal follows two police taskforces dealing with and investigating organized property crimes committed by foreign nationals. Central to the book is the challenge that the globalization of local police work presents to detectives understandings of what proper and rewarding police work consists of. Lastly, the book presents the consequences of these tensions, as well as possible solutions to how a globalized reality might be handled in ways more in tune with local actors.
