Henrik Vigh publishes new research article on the European opioid crisis

Henrik Vigh, head of the CGC, has recently published an article in the medical journal ASA Monitor, together with Nanna Reiter and Eske Kvanner Aasvang. The article, entitled "The European Opioid Crisis," addresses the growing challenges associated with the escalating opioid crisis in Europe. Vigh, along with his co-authors, explores the underlying causes of opioid abuse and dependency and presents new insights that could shape future intervention strategies.
The article emphasises the importance of a multidisciplinary effort and the use of mixed methods to effectively manage this public health crisis. The authors particularly highlight how an increase in prescription rates, the proliferation of synthetic opioids, and socioeconomic inequalities contribute to the extent of the problem.
